Acne Skin Therapy
Acne can be a problem for many people attending middle school. For some this problem even follows them from the halls of their schools and into their adult lives. These people continue to live with acne on a day to day basis. Even though they are now out of high school living with acne is just as embarrassing and undesirable for them.
Lucky for our clients Dr. John performs Acne Skin Therapy right in his office. He uses Aurora Radiofrequency Fotofacial therapy to eliminate acne and reduce secretions of the sebaceous glands, which are responsible for secreting a greasy lubricating substance responsible for most acne.
Fotofacial treatments can target the neck, face, hands, or body. No matter where the acne is Dr. John can find it and treat it. By using Radiofrequency energy combined with Intense Pulsed Light he can improve the appearance of the skin in a matter of minutes.
The upside to the treatment is that there is relatively no downtime after it takes place. This is due in part to the gentle nature of the Fotofacial treatment. There is a small amount of pain that will occur during the course of the treatment, which can be reduced even further by applying an anesthetic cream a half hour before the treatment takes place.
Treatments usually last about 30 minutes and are done every 3 weeks. Do not fret if results don’t happen right away as most clients will require between 5 and 6 treatments to see any difference.
The changes are gradual, but with enough treatments the face, neck and other surrounding areas of the body will be blemish free and as clear as can be.
Chemical Skin Peels
Wrinkles are never a good thing and they only increase with age. Sometimes these wrinkles can even be caused by sun damage or worse, something that cannot be prevented in the first place such as genetics.
Some of the uses of Chemical Skin Peels are to reduce age spots, treat acne, and reduce wrinkles and lines underneath the eyes and around the mouth. They also serve to get rid of uneven pigmentation and plump up the skin.
Chemical Skin Peels are quick and easy to do. They involve using a chemical solution, such as glycolic acid or carbonic acid, to create a controlled wound that blisters and eventually peels off. This allows new skin to grow back on the face without wrinkles.
To perform a Chemical Skin Peel Dr. John must first cleanse the client’s skin with a removing agent that gets rid of excess oils on the skin. Next he applies one of the chemical solutions, such as those listed above, to the affected area. After the application blistered skin will form which can then be peeled off.
There is a mild discomfort when getting the procedure done. A burning sensation will often last for about 5-10 minutes during the course of the procedure. After it is finished, the skin will peel, similar to what it looks like after getting sunburn. It will take between 3 and 7 days for scaling to stop.
Chemical Skin Peels can also be repeated a number of times to reach the desired effect. 1 to 4 week intervals are usually standard.
Say goodbye to acne, unsightly wrinkles, and uneven pigmentation with Dr. John’s Chemical Skin Peel treatment.
LASER Skin Peel
The face is one of the most important parts of the body when meeting people for the first time. It’s the first thing they look at, so why not make it something they will not forget (in a good way!).
Laser Skin Peel is yet another skin therapy that Dr. John practices at his clinic. Using short, concentrated pulsating beams of light directed at irregular skin he removes damaged skin layers one at a time.
The treatment is done in most cases to improve scars that may have occurred from acne and fine wrinkles around the eyes and mouth.
There are two different methods that can be used for Laser Skin Peel; CO2 Laser Resurfacing and Erbium YAG Laser Resurfacing. Each method is different and clients should consult with Dr. John to see which one is more suitable for their needs.
Dr. John uses local anesthesia when performing Laser Skin Peel, which only targets the specific area that is to be treated. Other sedative options (oral or intravenous) may be used to further bring comfort to our clients during the treatment.
Treatment time varies and can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on whether a partial or full-face treatment is desired. After treatment a pink to red color will be present on the treated areas. This color can easily be camouflaged with the use of makeup as the skin heals. Recovery time usually takes between 1 and 2 weeks.
Dr. John has been working with lasers since 1997 and is highly experienced when it comes to doing the Laser Skin Peel treatment.
